Sojourns by Cristina Pantoja-Hidalgo
Sojourns by Critisina Pantoja-Hidalgo is dedicated to Antonio A. Hidalgo, the author's husband, whose work in the United Nations allowed their young family to see many parts of the world.
The first essay in the book, "Recuerdo," recounts her earliest memories of traveling around the Philippines with her parents, visiting Calamba, Pagsanhan, Hundred Islands, Tagaytay, Bicolanda, Baguio, Davao, and Zamboanga.
In "Letters to Rita," she introduces her life as an expat, sharing her impressions of Jakarta, Rangoon, Cyprus, Beirut, Damascus, and Seoul. This is followed by "Bangkok Revisited," "Lebanon Journal," and "The Women of Korea."
Each narrative vividly illustrates the lands she has visited, taking the reader on an adventure with her.
