'Retrospective' serves as a light compendium on the pastiche of images and objects found in Mariano Ching’s works, which were shown in Silverlens Gallery from 2005 to 2013. His often-comical allegories contain imageries from pulp and science fiction, convey mythical and colonial undertones, and are warped towards a dimension which combine fantasy and popular culture.

Mariano Ching (b.1971) is a recipient of the Monbusho Japanese Grant and the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Thirteen Artists Awards. Published by Silverlens Galleries, the catalog contains full color illustrations gathered from over nine different exhibitions and is introduced by an essay written by Lena Cobangbang.
