Pacunayen: An Artist Returns
The first monograph on the work of Leon Pacunayen (b.1934) written by Emmanuel Torres, this book features his watercolor paintings of churches and rural and urban landscapes done in somber earthy colors.
Pacunayen graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in 1957 and taught at the Colegio di San Juan de Letran before leaving for further studies in Italy. He traveled extensively around Europe and eventually settled in Rome in the late 60s. He went back to the Philippines for a few years to teach at his alma mater and returned to Italy in the 70s.
