Sa Dáko Pa Roón, Sa Dáko Pa Paroón
Writing in Filipino, Eli Rueda Guieb III takes readers on a journey through the remote landscapes of northern Palawan and select areas on the mainland.
Guieb’s exploration extends beyond physical landscapes. Through diary entries from his fieldwork in 1997, Guieb shares his immersion in communities such as the Tagbanua Kalamianen, Tagbanua Tandulanen, Cuyonon, and foreign fishermen who settled in Palawan’s villages. His meticulous research documents the cultures and traditions of these locales, including different forms of oral literature.
Eli Rueda Guieb III is a media studies professor at the University of the Philippines Diliman - Department of Broadcast Communication. He is also a writer, critic, anthropologist, audio media artist, video documentarist, and experimental filmmaker. Guieb serves as a board member for UGAT (Ugnayang Pang-AghamTao) and Daluhay, a non-profit, non-government environmental organization based in Baler.
