This book compiles Marra PL. Lanot's poetry including poems from her earlier books, Sheaves of Things Burning (1967)and Flowers of the Sun (1970), and those published in newspapers, magazines, and other poetry anthologies from the pre-1980s.

Described as "A true poetess" by Jose M. Lansang Jr., her poetry has been praised by many others, including Nick Joaquin, N.M.V. Gonzales, Estrella Alfon, Francisco Arcellana, Isagani Cruz, and Ophelia A. Dimalanta.

Marra PL. Lanot obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English and Comparative Literature degree from the University of the Philippines. She represented the Philippines in the following international events: V Encuentro de Poetas del Mundo Latino, Ministry Foreign Affairs and University National Autónoma de Mexico, Guadalajara, 1990; Kuala Lumpur World Poetry Reading, Malaysian Ministry Education, 1994; 6th International Feminist Book Fair, Melbourne, Australia, 1994; Forum on Women, United Nations, Huairou and Beijing, 1995; IV Encuentro International de Poetas Mujeres, Estudios de la Cultura Mixteca, Oaxaca, Mexico, 1996; 23rd Festival Internacional de Poesía de Medellín (2013).
