Mga Piling Katha is a selection of twenty-one short stories by Liwayway A. Arceo (1924 - 1999), a Filipina fictionist, journalist, radio scriptwriter, editor, and actress. Acclaimed for her writing in Tagalog, she has received several awards including the Carlos Palanca Award for Short Story in Filipino (1962), Gawad CCP for Literature (1993) and the Philippine National Centennial Commission Award (1999). 

The stories included in this title span over forty years, from the 1940s to 80s, and were previously published in various magazines including Liwayway, Philippines Free Press, and Expressweek.
