Lee Aguinaldo: Rembrandt's Light Series
A special limited edition folio of the drawings of Lee Aguinaldo (1933-2007) produced in conjunction with his last solo exhibition at the Lopez Memorial Museum in 1992. One of the foremost modernists in the Philippines, Aguinaldo's early works were influenced by the New York School, particularly the Abstract Expressionists. He was also among the first to adopt a Pop sensibility, and incorporate objects and printed media in his paintings.
His last exhibition featured intimate pen and ink drawings of one of his favorite painters, Rembrandt van Rijn, 24 of which are reproduced in this folio, together with a text by Rod Paras-Perez.
