Bernardo Pacquing: Half Full
An accompanying catalog of Bernardo Pacquing's solo exhibition at Silverlens in 2015, 'Half-Full' features paintings and sculptures that delve into the materiality of everyday media.
Pacquing started working on this series after learning hydroponics—cultivating plants sans the presence of soil. The resulting works are abstractions of these found forms, fact products of quiet deliberation, waiting and exploration with various media. His use of abstraction, however, eschews any semblance of fidelity to botanical forms; instead, one can perceive indirect references to flora through the wielding of form and composition.
