Art Across the Philippines
Art Across the Philippines by Manuel D. Duldulao features selections from the collection of art patron Carlos 'Chuckie' Arellano. A banker by profession, Arellano comes from a distinguished family of artists, including his grandfather Arcadio, the first licensed architect in Manila, his father, Otilio, also an architect who was in charge of the first's world fair held in Manila, and his sister, Agnes, a contemporary sculptor and founder of The Pinaglabanan Galleries in San Juan. Among the works in his collection are pieces by both Filipino old masters such as Fernando Amorsolo and Victorio Edades, more recent works by Arturo Luz, Jose Joya, Malang, as well as works by less-known artists working outside the main art centers of Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao.
