Hello! I'm Ok. I am a Comic Artist, Musician and a Stand-up Comedy writer. I wear many hats to make ends meet and not one of the aforementioned is any of them. Like kind of sucks, but I Love Pasta. The OG tomato sauce I tasted in Brooklyn once was so sour I thought it was Sinigang. You had to use a lot of cheese to taste.
Can you tell us about "Malantot"?
Yes po. We are basically a group of drinking buddies who drink too much from Quezon City who wanted to make Comics in the vein of what we grew up with like Robert Crumb, Cesar Asar, Spy vs Spy, Heavy Metal, Tales From The Crypt, Gary Larson, Comics that veered away from the mainstream super hero genre or manga, and the comics that suck.
My Co-Conspirator Robert Langenegger and I were both from Maginhawa Street, and we were looking for an "M" word for a name of the comics like the streets where we live in. Does "Maginhawa" sound too gay for a Science Fiction comic? We don't know. We got the name "Malantot" from an old email address he had that was used by our friend Pipo Alido. We looked it up, and it was non-existent. It sounds ridiculously Filipino or Tagalog-Like. It kind of sounds pretty negative. Like a Booger, or a Horny person, or something that smells bad, or a horny person that smells bad. But it's everything but.
We just want it to mean something from the nothing we could make it, if that makes sense. It's funny to us.
I read once there's a guy with a last name Malantot in Facebook. That's funny to me. There could be a whole family of Malantots out there.
Antimatter Number 3 and Number 4. Those are the ones with the most sequences that I had competed in comics contests outside the country.

Do you cook Adobo? Sinigang? Anything Filipino? Is there a recipe you want to share?
Yes. You can use beef batok to replace pork in sinigang. For an enchalada, Use Sukang Paumbong with Lemon, Salt and Pepper, on julienne-cut ampalaya, tomatoes and onions. Let set for a couple minutes before serving.
