Presented as a specialized art newspaper, this special issue of Zone-D on Juan Luna was produced by the graduate students in Art History at the University of the Philippines under the direction of Rod Paras-Perez. It aims to cut across several related events in 1884, when Juan Luna's Spoliarium won the first prize at the Exposición Nacional de Bellas Artes in Madrid.
