A monograph on the work of Valeria Cavestany, published on the occasion of her solo exhibition at Finale Art File in 2001. Born to a Spanish father and a Filipino mother, Cavestany easily oscillates between these two cultures, tapping into their inherent dynamism to suit her free-spirited personality. Her introduction to art was through her early studies in textile design and her fascination with patterns can be gleaned in her paintings, sculptures and other works in various media. She is known for her floral paintings, still life, and portraits which are rooted in her view that "all art is dedicated to joy."
