This book by Sir Anril Pineda Tantoco is a study of the relationship between Catholicism and the embodied world of theater in opposition to the written text. It proposes that performance may be seen as an analogy for the understanding of Catholicism and that the link between the two is ontological. It looks at three examples of Catholic rituals or cultural performances in the province of Pampanga: pamamaku king krus, libad nang Apung Iru, and the kuraldal nang Apung Lucia.
