Pananaw is a Philippine contemporary art journal, launched in 1996 and publicly released in 1997 as an initiative of artists and cultural workers.
Pananaw 1 is the book series' launching volume. It contains articles on ASEAN aesthetics, the Asia-Pacific century, regional art, Muslim figurative painting, art and state intervention, political art, indigenous art and a feature on National Artist for Visual Arts J. Elizalde Navarro. Writers include Paul Blanco Zafaralla, Emmanuel Torres, Jeannie Javelosa, Imelda Cajipe-Endaya, Abraham Sakili, Gaudelia Vega-Doromal, Rod Paras Perez, Patrick Flores, Alice Guillermo, Thelma Kintanar, Alfredo Roces, and Rachel Mayo. Design and production supervision by Manny Chaves.
