Pacita Abad: A Million Things To Say
Following the exhibition Pacita Abad: A Million Things To Say presented by the Museum of Contemporary Art & Design in 2018, this monograph "presents the artist’s work within the discourse generated by her trapuntos – stitched, padded and quilted paintings that she began in the late 1970s. Characterized by vibrant color and accumulated material, these large-scale works also reflect the multiplicity of textures, materials, and narratives in her works and also the complexity of her persona."
The first publication devoted to the artist in over a decade, it includes a foreword by Jack Garrity, essays from the exhibition curators Joselina Cruz and Pio Abad, Clara Kim, and H.G. Masters, and a conversation with Shabbir Hussain Mustafa.
