Michael Goldenberg Memorial Book
This book commemorates the life of Michael Goldenberg (1889-1963), an American businessman and philanthropist who first came to the Philippines as a young boy in 1896. Founder of the Goldenberg Department Store and the Philippine Industrial Export Associates, he was also an avid stamp collector and a pioneer in organized philately in the Philippines. He dedicated his collection of over 4000 books, journals, maps, old photographs, pamphlets, and other ephemera on the Philippines and its great men, to the Filipino people and opened the Goldenberg Filipiniana Library for the study of the culture and history of the Philippines.
