A festschrift in honor of Dr. Mario Miclat, Fairground: A Literary Feast is a collection of poems, essays, plays, and short stories that "celebrates his life and achievements as a scholar of Asian cultures and societies and as a man of letters." Dr. Miclat spent his formative years as a scholar living in exile in China, where he also worked at the Ministry of Radio, Film and Television from 1971 to 1986. He joined the faculty and later became dean of the UP Asian Center in Diliman after his return to the Philippines in 1986. He is also the author of two books on Maoism in the Philippines, The Secrets of the Eighteen Mansions and Pinoy Odyssey 2049.
