Buffet of Sounds: Sonic & Visual Feast
Catalog of the exhibition Buffet of Sounds: Sonic & Visual Feast, a tribute to Lirio Salvador curated by Wire Tuazon at the NCCA Gallery in 2018. Salvador is the artist behind "the indigenous ethno-industrial noise assault/ensemble Elemento and founder of the independent art space Espasyo Siningdikato in Dasmarinas, Cavite, south of Manila. Considered as a key figure in the experimental and sound art scene in the Philippines, Salvador deconstructs banal objects into new forms, which he calls sandatas, and fuses sonic aspects of our technological environment to ordinary objects that are deeply imbued in our contemporary setting." The exhibition includes a selection of Salvador's works, as well as interactive pieces by other artists who have worked closely with him, including Tad Ermitano, Toshiyuki Seido, Jon Romero, Cris Garcimo, and Stanley Castelo.
