Inspired by the lotus-eaters in Homer’s Odyssey, bliss features an English sonnet that reimagines the classical story, presenting a version where the speaker gives into their passions & willingly slips into pleasant apathy—losing all desire to return home. The zine, taking the form of the poem’s subject, is composed of 2 main parts: an origami lotus flower with illustrated motifs & a booklet, all printed in Sunflower, Fluorescent Pink and Gold risograph on black paper.
