ATOA: Artist's field notes
ATOA: Artists’ Field Notes is a limited-edition art book that focuses on artists' insights and perspectives regarding the female figures in their lives. An anthology of visual and literary passages that reminisces about women’s presence, memory, and influence in our creative life.
Artists and writers chart their relationships with the women who shape their worlds—mothers, lovers, sisters, mentors, friends, or even in their community. The title plays on the dual meaning of “field notes,” evoking both observation and intimate reflection, while simultaneously grounding itself in the Cebuano word atoa, meaning “ours.” This linguistic convergence is an assertion: these are our experiences, our stories, our gaze.
The work is presented in a one-to-one art book, designed to explore the nuanced sensitivity of craft, tapping to the stereotype affiliated with this medium of art.
