Gregory Halili: Heavenly Bodies

Gregory Halili: Heavenly Bodies

Regular price ₱1,000.00

A catalog published in conjunction with Gregory Halili’s solo exhibition at Silverlens Manila held from 10 December 2022 to 7 January 2023. The publication includes an essay by Floy Quintos and a text by Halili on his reflections about this exhibit.

Halili writes, “Heavenly Bodies is a series of sculptural works inspired by celestial objects, particularly the comet. I deeply believe comets as symbols of life, death, rebirth, and cycle.”

Gregory Halili (b. 1975, lives and works in Manila) carves and paints mother-of-pearl shells, creating memento moris. After two decades in the U.S., he returned to the Philippines in 2013 and continues to explore themes of memory, decay, and ecological fragility through luminous shell-based works.
