Lani Maestro: Cradle
The accompanying publication of Lani Maestro's solo exhibition, Cradle, at Art in General, New York in 1996. The first major presentation of Maestro's work in New York, the exhibition featured three installations, Cradle, Ako Ikaw (I am you), and a book thick of ocean. Maestro (b. 1957) is an internationally-acclaimed Filipino artist who is known for her conceptual works in various media, including installation, sound, video, books, and writing. A recipient of the 1978 Thirteen Artist Award from the Cultural Center of the Philippines, she left the Philippines in the early 1980s and is currently based in Canada and France.
