Pananaw 4
Pananaw is a Philippine contemporary art journal, launched in 1996 and publicly released in 1997 as an initiative of artists and cultural workers.
Pananaw 4 consists of critical essays and full-color spreads on art from Angono, Bulacan, Baguio, Palawan and other provinces in Luzon. It is edited by Ayala Museum Director Dr. Florina N. Capistrano-Baker, Volume authors include Patrick Flores, Ditas Samson, Reuben Ramas Cañete, Ma. Teodora Prieto, Marilyn Canta, Jose Tence Ruiz, Pearl Tan, Pearlie Baluyut, Lourdes Valeriano, and Petty Benitez-Johannot. Its line-up includes articles on Luzon art production and organizing, Philippine indigenous aesthetics and installations, the Cultural Center of the Philippines Thirteen Artists Awards, national art competitions, New York-based Filipino-American artists, and a feature on itinerant artist, David Cortez Medalla. First-person accounts from award-winning young critic Eric Florentino and Asean Art Awards grand prize winner, Nona Garcia, round up this volume. Design and production supervision by Norberto Roldan.
