Poster/ity: 50 Years of Art & Culture at the CCP
Published in conjunction with the exhibition POSTER/ITY: 50 Years of Art and Culture at the CCP, this book documents a selection of over 200 posters of exhibitions, performances and other events held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines from its opening in 1969 to 2019. Part of the CCP 50th anniversary program, it gathers ephemera of what can be ascribed as a national cultural agenda, tracing the institution’s various artistic directions -- from the pursuit of a modern and international Filipino aesthetic in the 70s, to a more nationalistic search for a new Filipino identity after 1986, to today’s celebration of the diversity in Filipino cultural traditions and histories.
Includes essays by the exhibition curators, Ringo Bunoan and Baby Imperial, additional texts by Lucille Tenazas and Alice Esteves, a timeline of CCP's major programs and events, and an index of the posters featured in the exhibition.
