It documents the Ivatans of Batanes, one of the few traditional boat makers, and their ancestral-given wisdom passed from one generation to another and developed through time. It includes information on the types and parts of Ivatan boats and traditional boat building practices of the Ivatans, including the materials and equipment and boat maintenance.
