An accompanying catalog of an exhibition curated by Joselina Cruz at the Ateneo Art Gallery (AAG) in 2002, 'Whitewash' takes off from meditations on white and features select works from the AAG permanent collection. Some of the artists whose works were featured in the exhibition include modern masters Fernando Zobel, Roberto Chabet, Lee Aguinaldo, Lao Lian Ben, J. Elizalde Navarro, Arturo Luz, as well as younger artists Nona Garcia and Poklong Anading. The publication includes Cruz' essay titled 'Quiet Excess' and 'The Meanings of White' by Alice Guillermo.
