Inspired by Hollywood noir but in a Philippine setting, Weldon M. McCarty's The Small-but-terrible Gina refers to the book's main character and how she cuts across Manila's dark underbelly of criminality from big-time to small-time operators by flashing her potent sexual powers.

The first volume of a trilogy that examines Manila's ecology of criminality, The Small-but-terrible Gina will be followed by two more books, Professional Women, and Seeking Radiance, which have yet to be released.

Weldon M. McCarty was born in Texas, USA and came to the Philippines as a US Air Force Cryptographer during the Vietnam War.
