This book is a documentation of the Ivatan traditional boat, known as tataya. It records the Ivatans of Batanes, one of the few traditional boat makers, and their ancestral-given wisdom passed from one generation to another and developed through time. It includes information on Ivatan history and ethnography as well as the types and parts of Ivatan boats and the traditional boat building practices of the Ivatans.
