About Us

artbooks.ph is a new independent bookstore run by Pioneer Studios, a company of artists dedicated to documenting and promoting Philippine art and culture.

Founded at a time when Philippine art publications have yet to become widely available despite the flourishing of the local art scene, we are the only bookstore in Manila that focuses on Philippine art. We offer a platform not just for the distribution of books but also to generate awareness and advocate for cultural literacy.

We carry recommended titles on Visual Arts; Architecture & Design; Film & Photography; New Media & Performance; Theater, Music & Dance; Cultural Heritage; History, Theory, & Criticism; and Travel & Lifestyle.

We have a growing collection of new, previously owned, and out-of-print artists’ books & zines, monographs, exhibition catalogs, reference books, journals, and other printed matter, most of which are directly sourced from artists, independent publishers and small presses in the Philippines and are not available in larger bookstores.

We thrive on the discovery of books that record the various narratives and aspects of Philippine art and culture and we are happy to suggest, discuss, and search for hard-to-find books for our customers.

Our books are available in our store in Pioneer Studios, along Pioneer Street, Mandaluyong City, an alternative shopping and dining destination that is only 15 minutes away from Makati. A selection of our books is also available online through our website. We offer local and international courier delivery and ship within 2-3 working days. We also accept special orders and book reservations.
