Translated from the original Portuguese manuscript, The Voyage of Ferdinand Magellan by Fernando Oliveira records the famous world-circumnavigation led by Magellan in 1519. Based on an interview with one of the few survivors of the expedition, it is part of a dossier of writings by Oliveira on the historic voyage and "deserves a place of honor in the midst of the rich redundant collection of documents about the sea and about navigation which the Portuguese Age of Discovery has left to us."
