Southeast Asian Contemporary Art Now
Presents a selection of 23 artists coming from Southeast Asia, a region considered by the author as the ‘last frontier’ of contemporary art. Through research, interviews, and full color images of each selected artist’s works, this book provides a glimpse into the region’s vibrant art scene generated by a new breed of artists working in varied mediums such as Sopheap Pich of Cambodia, Agus Suwage of Indonesia, Louie Cordero of the Philippines, Donna Ong of Singapore, Pinaree Sanpitak of Thailand, and Tiffany Chung of Vietnam. The author, Marc Bollansee, hails from a family of art collectors in Belgium, and has spent 12 years in Southeast Asia beginning in 1990 and has written four books on Indonesian art.
