Philippine Abstract Painting
Fifty years of Philippine abstract painting beginning in the 1940s to the early 1990s are surveyed in this historical treatise by Emmanuel Torres. He investigates the roots of non-objective art in the Philippines, gauges its development and direction, assesses the collective significance and relevance of abstract art, and searches for common denominators in the works of three postwar generations of abstract artists.
