Paradise is Very Nice
This zine by Electrolychee compiles vinyl sticker landscapes, which have become faded remnants of the Philippines' agricultural utopia in the 1900s - 1930s. The images documented in this zine evolved from Mabini art, during the jeepney industry's peak in the 60s-70s, when assembly lines hired self-taught folk artisans to paint bucolic landscapes. These are now standard vignettes for sticker artists plying the trade since the 90s. A true art for the masses, these charming tropicalia are a fitting tribute to the Philippines' 7,107 islands.
