Of Igorots and Independence
This book includes two essays by William Henry Scott, a lay missionary of the Protestant Episcopal Church who settled in Sagada, Mountain Province in the 1950s. He taught history and became a historian of the Gran Cordillera Central and Prehispanic Philippines. The two essays in this book - The Defense of the Igorot Independence and The Origin of the Word Igorot - were written for an Igorot youth conference held in Bontoc, Mountain Province on December 26, 1971. The book also includes a biographical essay on Scott by Erlyn Ruth Alcantara.
