Nena Saguil: Landscapes and Inscapes
Nena Saguil: Landscapes and Inscapes is the accompanying monograph of the retrospective of Saguil's work curated by Emmanuel Torres at the Ateneo Art Gallery in 2003. Saguil (1924 - 1994) is the first woman artist to pioneer in abstraction and was part of the groundbreaking First Exhibition of Non Objective Art at the Philippine Art Gallery in 1953. This exhibition seeks to trace her creative trajectory from figuration to abstraction and provides an overview of her metamorphosis from earthy Philippine scenes to cosmic visions from the material world to the spiritual.
