Marcos the Revolutionary
This book by Isabelo T. Crisostomo traces and analyzes the rise of Ferdinand E. Marcos from an "orthodox politician to an unorthodox revolutionary." Drawing from Marcos' own speeches, interviews, and other media sources, Crisostomo's account of the Revolt at Congress, the Battle of Mendiola, Siege of Malacanang, and other First Quarter Storm events, prior to the launch of Marcos' Democratic Revolution in 1971, is helpful in understanding the events that led to the proclamation of Martial Law in 1972.
