MAPA atbp. No. 2 Isola Tong
Isola Tong is an artist and researcher from Manila, Philippines, whose multidisciplinary practice investigates the intersections of ecology, queerness and postcolonial geographies. Her work integrates sculpture, installation, and performance to explore themes of environment, memory, legibility, and climate. Drawing on traditional craft practices such as basketry, Tong combines material experimentation and critical theory to address the ecological and cultural dimensions of fire, landscapes, and human-nonhuman relationships.
MAPA atpb., is a project by Unrelearning Press and Ipo-Ipo Projects. This series of publications aims to assemble, distribute and archive stories and strategies of navigation by cultural workers within and outside of Region IV-A, Philippines.
