
Luis Lorenzana: Archival Collection
A self-taught artist, Luis Lorenzana (b. 1979) draws from various tropes from history, popular culture and religious doctrine to produce commentaries on Filipino contemporary culture. This monograph focusing on his early paintings and drawings made between 2005 to 2008 can be divided into two groups; one focusing on the dysfunctions of the Filipino political system and the second,the bitter end of his relationship with his fiancee. The monograph is authored by Michelle Yun, with contributions from Ryu Niimi, Ambeth Ocampo, and Lisa Guerrero Nakpil.
