Lino Brocka: The Artist and His Times is a study of the highly influential and popular Filipino filmmaker. From the 1970s to his death in 1991, Brocka created a prodigious body of works, including some of the most important films ever produced in the Philippines such as Maynila Sa Mga Kuko Ng Liwanag, Insiang, Bona, Jaguar, Kapit Sa Patalim, and Orapronobis.
Edited by Mario A. Hernando, this book attempts to present a comprehensive view of the artist's life and work, with special sections devoted to reviews of Brocka's most important films and a complete filmography prepared by Agustin Sotto.
