Kawayan de Guia: Earth to Sky
An accompanying publication of Kawayan de Guia's solo exhibition at the Lopez Memorial Museum in 2001. Working across various forms from painting, collage, photography, sculpture, and installation, Kawayan de Guia draws from the history and confluence of Western and Filipino indigenous culture of the Cordilleras. His works reflect various sociopolitical issues in contemporary Philippine society and the colonial past, particularly the heritage and indigenous culture of the Cordilleras. This catalog includes essays by the artist's mother, Katrin de Guia, and curator Joselina 'Yeyey' Cruz.
