This book by Guillermo Tejon, O.P. tells the story of Fr. Juan Villaverde, O.P., one of the most famous Dominican missionaries who worked in northern Luzon, Philippines from 1868 to 1897. He founded the town of Ibung in Nueva Vizcaya, which is now named Villaverde and built many roads connecting the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya, Pangasinan, Ifugao, Isabela. He also designed the town plan of Solano in Nueva Vizcaya and proposed a development program for the Cagayan Valley. He also published important ethnographic, ethnologic, and cartographic reports on northern Luzon as well as the first comprehensive book on Ifugao mythology.
