Jose Maceda: Ugnayan

Regular price ₱2,679.00

Originally recorded in 1974, Jose Maceda's historic Ugnayan was a 20-channel simultaneous broadcast on all of Manila's radio stations heard by people gathered in public spaces with hand-held transistor radios. It was a massive production supported by the Marcos government intended to meld values of indigenous Filipino culture with Modernist aesthetics. Politically charged but largely misunderstood, the effort involving the public in an avant-garde environmental music performance was an unprecedented achievement by a Filipino composer that has yet to be surpassed.
