In the Eye of Modernity: Selections from the Permanent Collection of the Ateneo Art Gallery
'In the Eye of Modernity' is the permanent exhibition of the Ateneo Art Gallery. Featuring select works from its collection, the exhibition highlights the development of modern art in the Philippines. Focusing particularly on the period from 1950-1964, or the so-called Philippine Art Gallery (PAG) years, the exhibition includes many significant works by Filipino postwar modernists, many of whom regularly exhibited at PAG. This accompanying publication includes an updated essay by Ramon E.S. Lerma, which was first published for the catalog of the exhibition 'In The Eye of Modernity: Neo-Realist Masterworks from the Ateneo Art Gallery' shown at the Singapore Art Museum from 2009 - 2010.
