Created for Filipino senior high school students in the Arts and Design Track, Filipino Identity in the Arts by Laya Boquiren is designed to nurture the learner's appreciation for artistic traditions in the Philippines. It provides a summative discussion on Filipino identity in the arts with an emphasis on individual human agency and the uniqueness of each person. Art form, process, and material or intangible cultural properties are explored vis a vis parameters that include ethnicity, social relations, and others. It also includes a survey of artistic creations that are embedded in particular cultural and geographical characteristics.
