The Filipiniana Reader is a collection of essays that resonates the multiple perspectives that inform the study of Philippine culture. It includes histories and critical surveys of traditional and non-traditional, canonical and minoritized practices, metacritical studies of the state of Philippine studies on particular aspects of culture, and close readings and interpretations of texts that offer different perceptions regarding the nature of Filipino identity and the Philippine nation. Edited by Priscelina Patajo-Legasto, it includes texts by Nicanor Tiongson, Isagani Cruz, Doreen Fernandez, Bienvenido Lumbera, Soledad Reyes, Gemino Abad, and other writers and scholars in the field of Philippine studies.
