The first in a series of books on Manila's architectural heritage by Fernando N. Zialcita and Erik Akpedonu with Victor S. Venida, Endangered Splendor gathers significant buildings from the Spanish, American, and early Independence periods which have survived to this day. This volume focuses on districts located in the center of Manila - Intramuros, Binondo, San Nicolas, and Tondo. Aside from providing a historical overview, the book also includes detailed descriptions of the structures and their significance, current condition, as well as the challenges in their preservation.
