Cubism in Asia: Unbounded Dialogues
This is a catalog of an exhibition jointly organized by the Singapore Art Museum, The Japan Foundation, The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, and The National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea. Comprising of series of joint country-surveys, the project is the first known attempt to focus on the question of how Cubist trends were received by Asian artists and their responses. It aims to provide an opportunity to examine the various aspects of modern painting in Asia and provide an Asian perspective on the question of Cubism vis-a-vis modernism.
