Crossings: Portrait of a Revolutionary
This book is the autobiography of Rolando E. Pena, a well-known Filipino geologist and author of the landmark book Lexicon of Philippine Stratigraphy. But more than being a man of science, he was also engaged in the politics of the times. He helped establish the Communist Party of the Philippines in 1968 and figured prominently in the failed attempts of the CPP to smuggle arms into the Philippines in the 70s. He devoted the last 26 years of his life molding a new generation of geologists and advocating for nature conservation through geo-parks in Bohol and the Masungi Reserve in Tanay, Rizal.
