Botong Francisco: A Nation Imagined
An accompanying publication of the exhibition commemorating the birth centennial of National Artist Carlos 'Botong' Francisco (1912-1969), this catalog documents his major works from several private and museum collections. It narrates his significant contributions to Philippine modernism as well as his role as the 'poet of Angono'. 'As an artist who influenced, and in turn, was inspired by his community, his body of works serves as a visual document of timeless and traditional folkways.' Along with the catalog is a DVD of a short film directed by Peque Gallaga featuring Botong's murals in the Manila City Hall and Rizal Shrine in Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Manila.
