Ang Mundo ni Inay
Published in conjunction with her solo exhibition at the Ayala Museum in 2016, Ang Mundo ni Inay by Araceli Limcaco Dans features an interplay of clay and pulp sculptures of the mother and child and her distinctive realistic paintings of floral and lace tableaus.
Araceli Limcaco Dans (b. 1929) was trained in the classical style of Fernando Amorsolo and Guillermo Tolentino at the University of the Philippines, where she graduated in 1950. She is best known for her detailed depiction of Philippine hand embroidery and lacework, as a way to reconfigure and celebrate the concept of the Filipino feminine.
